Association EMA announces official support for the second EAST FCS Forum (The EAST Financial Crime & Security Forum 2015) taking place on the 11th and 12th June 2015 at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus, The Hague Scheveningen (Netherlands).
Association EMA is the national representative for Ukraine at EAST (The European ATM Security Team). EAST is a ‘non-profit’ organisation whose members are committed to gathering information from, and disseminating EAST outputs to, ATM deployers and networks within their countries/regions.
While the main focus of EAST is on ATMs, the group also focuses on all payment terminals that have a direct impact on crime perpetrated at ATM locations. EAST National Members represent countries within the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), as well as others by special arrangement and active links are maintained with both Europol and Eurojust. In addition EAST set up an international network in order to help improve public/private sector cross-border cooperation in the fight against organised, cross-border crime.
In a European ATM Crime Report covering 2014, EAST reported a continued increase in the number of physical attacks, malware and cyber-attacks on ATMs across Europe (including data from 29 countries with a total deployment of 639,379 ATMs). Skimming continues to be an issue for most ATM owners and operators with cash trapping and transaction reversal fraud remaining on the radar also. As threats evolve and continue to migrate, EAST has made a strategic decision to reach out to additional stakeholders through, amongst other initiatives, the EAST FCS Forum. The inaugural Forum took place in 2013 and delegates from all over the world, representing law enforcement agencies, fraud prevention vendors, bank and financial institution representatives, with a focus on financial crime prevention, and risk managers learnt about all of the issues facing ATM owners, operators, card issuers and police as well as best practice guidelines on preventing the crime.
Association EMA is proud to officially support this second EAST FCS Forum (The EAST Financial Crime & Security Forum 2015) which takes place on the 11th and 12th June 2015 at the Grand Hotel Amrâth Kurhaus, The Hague, Scheveningen (Netherlands). The EAST FCS Forum will bring together global stakeholders with the objective of sharing knowledge, the latest trends, innovations and modus operandi in the ATM Security field, as well as the impact of international financial crime, and seek practical and strategic measures to respond to ever-evolving threats. The conference agenda is set by national members and will include contributions from regional and international stakeholders. The event is co-organised with LiquidNexxus Ltd.
